Article II - Mission The mission of this organization shall be to promote a high standard of learning and to encourage high scholastic attainment among the freshmen at UW-Green Bay.

Qualifications of Members 1. All UW-Green Bay freshmen who have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3. Transfer students who have not completed more than twenty semester hours or thirty quarter hours at another college of university after high school graduation and before matriculation in the instituion of the chapter proposing initiation are eligible for membership if they met the criteria stated above.

An induction ceremony is held during Spring Semester at which time all initiates from Fall and Spring will be invited to attend. Membership Fee The membership fee pays for an academic key or tie, tac, membership certificate, and a copy of the national magazine, Forum of Phi Eta Sigma. The fee also pays a portion of the expenses for a chapter delegate to attend the national convention and a portion goes to the Founders Fund for national scholarships. The most current membership fee is listed on the chapter website and may be changed at the beginning of an academic year based upon officer's decisions and needs.

Voting Privileges Voting privileges shall be granted only to members who are regularly enrolled UW-Green Bay students. Termination of membership The membership into Phi Eta Sigma is a lifetime membership.

Members can only be suspended or expelled from membership by unanimous vote of the Executive Committee. Induction 1. A formal induction ceremony is held during Spring Semester. Attendance at the induction ceremony is optional.

Article IV - Officers A. Election and Removal Officers shall be elected by a simple majority vote of the members present at a meeting held during spring semester. If there is a vacancy in any position, a person willing to become an officer may be elected by a special election of appointed. Each has a specific role to play during the annual induction ceremony. Students will have the chance to earn a special level of distinction to their Phi Eta Sigma membership by participating in qualifying national and local chapter events. The first class will be recognized at the National Convention and will receive exclusive graduation regalia only available to those who meet the requirements. Read The Forum. At the Convention, much is expected of the Grand President, for he or she is, as stated above, the figurehead of Eta Sigma Phi and is prominently placed at all Convention proceedings. Normal duties for the Grand President at the National Convention include, but are not limited to, the following activities:.

The Grand Vice-President automatically shall become chair of the Committee on Reactivation and Expansion, submitting a written report to the succeeding convention concerning petitions received, approved, and rejected by the Grand Executive Council.

Suggested timeline for VP: Summer - review spreadsheet and make any additional changes, such as new chapters, change in chapter activity, etc.

Discuss with Executive Secretary to ensure communication and accuracy. Discuss options for expansion and reactivation with other officers and executive secretary. The hyparchos may want to appoint coordinators: those chapters who are interested in hosting regional conventions before National Convention.

Hopefully this would allow for more interest in attending National Convention, and information from the National Office may get to chapters more quickly with regional events. Gather all possible information during Christmas Break and give to Executive Secretary. Power point is not necessary, but it's a good way to present.

Also make sure that you have received all letters of application from prospective schools, print out and take with you to convention. April: National Convention Duties A. Attend all events B.
